In the tabletop photograph Wildfire, Matthew Albanese creates a mini model and photographs it in a way that makes it look incredibly similar to a fire blazing through the woods in real life. Made out of materials including wood, moss, cooked sugar, pot scrubbers, sand, tile grout, and red and orange party bulbs, the model has a lot of depth to it, which adds to the realism of the photo. The bulbs create the same glowing effect as a fire, and the model trees are suspended at differing heights to add to the realism of a destructive fire. All the time spent making the model allows for a very strong final photograph.
