Shot by Richard Avedon, this portrait drew my eye immediately, which is why I chose it. It shows a beekeeper with what looks to be hundreds of bees crawling across his bare body. He has no hair anywhere, from his head to eyebrows to chest, adding another unique layer to the shot. What makes it effective is the eccentric subject that pulls the eye of the viewer like it did mine, and the decision to make the shot black and white allows for a better focus on the lines and details of the shot rather than distracting colors.
