Chati Coronel created the visual pop anthem, “Be The ” so people could view them and strengthen what is inside them. The title, “Be The ” is a play on Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “be the change you wish to see in the world.” These linocut prints feature a series of different inspirational messages. There are also many versions of the same message with slight variations of color and design. When photographed and placed into a repeating image, the viewer is struck with a vibrant series of inspirational messages. Chati Coronel created these works to make a social statement that anyone can relate to and internalize. Her purpose is to inspire people and tell them that they can be whatever they want to be.
