Jerry uses multiple negatives layered on the photo paper and can change the exposures for certain parts with by blocking or adding light to the paper. He is able to workshop these images and tweak them to his liking in the darkroom. In this way he builds an image of a reality that he has created.
Maggie’s playful imagery is done through the computer on photoshop instead of a darkroom where she is able to adjust more as she goes and experiment with various combinations. Her bizarre imagery give a dark fairytale feel that remains in the realm of surrealism but differs from Jerry.
