James Casebere uses architecture based models and photography to create surreal scenes that push reality into a dream-like version of what it could look like. His use of color and light set a clear mood and desired effect for the photograph and scene he is presenting. He often uses the clean lines of architecture with structures that normally seem empty and airy with a more natural element such as the reflection on water or a blue sky. This elevated the photograph into something more interesting and varied. In this particular photograph I really like the water and how it distorts the color of the house and sky to make it look more painterly.
