Man in Window, 1960
Henri Cartier-Bresson
Silver Gelatin Print

The facial expression of the man in this photograph is what drew me in immediately. The way New York City is reflecting over his amazed face brings a sense of joy to the image. New York City is a very remarkable place and the facial expression we see in this photograph is one that many people express when seeing the skyline. The photographer captured the perfect amount of reflection and light to make this photo extremely effective. My eyes do not get lost in what I should be viewing. This photograph may be relevant to current digital artists because although it was taken in 1960, the main subjects of the image (NYC) still exist today. Currents artists are very capable of capturing and remaking this photo again if they please.
