Front Flap:

Alex Mow grew up along the West Coast his whole life before moving to the East Coast to attend Lehigh University. He developed a passion for photography at a young age. He uses digital photography as his prefered medium to express himself creatively.

Mow is currently a semi-professional photographer whose work is heavily inspired by landscape and social documentary photographers such as Christopher Burkard and Sebastiao Salgado. Mow has traveled far and wide in order to capture the beauty of the bond between mankind and nature. Mow is a firm believer in the power of emotional contagion. He hopes that through his photography he will be able to spread his love for Mother Earth to others. By doing so, he is optimistic that people will begin to treat Earth more preciously.

Back Flap:

Down By The River was shot at multiple different locations in Pennsylvania within the short distance of a nearby river.

Throughout Mow’s college career he believed that Pennsylvania was a monotonous and unattractive state. This book challenges that idea and proves that there is much to love about Earth, even in the most unexpected of places.
