Four Artist Have the Same Idea with Mini Figurines http://ifitshipitshere.blogspot.com/2009/10/four-artists-have-same-big-idea-with.html

I chose this image from Vincent Bousserez’s “plastic life” series because I felt it to be one of the most powerful fo the pieces. I see great meaning in this piece as it displays the struggle to fit in with society’s beauty standards. The women in the image is standing on a “giant” makeup palette, this symbolizes how the pressure to look a certain way in todays society’s feels so strong and so much bigger than you yourself. In addition, I felt the series title, “plastic life” also adds to the symbolization of this image as women in this society feel so pressured to fill to the beauty standards and in doing so many refer to people as “plastic” or “fake.”
