Robert Capa is a very talented war photographer and photojournalist whose works made him famous for the documentary of the civil war. His photographs had such a meaningful impact on those who saw him that he was considered one of the best war photographers in the world. Not only did his camera skills make for strong shots, but his affection and natural connection to people allowed him to create images that had powerful emotion. He traveled to many places, some with his friend Gerda Taro, in order to capture the most accurate version of the war.

Salgado was originally an economist that graduated from the University of Paris. He then worked at the International Coffee Organization which required him to take many trips to Africa. It was on these trips that he became interested in photography and decided to pursue it. Many of his photos show people living in bad economic situations. He has the difficult job of capturing the social and economic aspect of a situation in his photos, which he does very well and in a series of phots rather than individual. He also aims to show the strength of the individuals he is photographing without making them feel badly about their economic status. Some of the awards he has earned are the Eugene Smith Award for Humanitarian Photography, the Erna and Victor Hasselblad Award, two ICP Infinity Awards for Journalism, and the Arles International Festival’s prize for best photography book for Workers.
