The subject matters of this image are four gang members in Brooklyn, NYC, 1959. This image is effective to me because I really like the composition of it and the contrast between the sharp focus on the 3 guys on the left and another one on the right. It is interesting that the photographer chose to keep the focus on further subject matters instead of the closer one. The blurry part shows the motion of that gang member on the right.
