“Untitled #250” by Cindy Sherman
This image slightly terrifies me, which I think is the emotion Sherman is trying to elicit. In the sense, she did a great job. Sherman used her art to question the role of women in society. That comes across in this image as the figurine is clearly an exposed view of a woman’s body but has the head of a man who looks smug and pretty evil. The figure seems relaxed which juxtaposes what looks like a very uncomfortable environment and what is going on between her legs. One of the goals of her images was to show the beauty in the disgusting.
