Image 5 from, “Then They Came For Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II.”

Of the photo books, I think I drew the most inspiration from, “Then They Came For Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II.” While I liked the other two and saw clear continuity and purpose behind all of the shots I thought something was missing when comparing them to, “Then They Came For Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II.” Upon reflection, I realized what was missing was a clear story. In, “Then They Came For Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II,” the photos seem continuous like you were going through different scenes in a movie.

This concept of almost storyboarding a movie through photography is something that I think I could use in a book. If I could create and link shots through visual cues alone, I think my photo book would be extremely successful.
