This image taken by Ken Heyman in 1965 is titled “Woman Sitting in a Chair in a Park”.  The title is the exact description of the photograph, it shows a woman all alone in a large park, sitting on a chair reading.  What interested me about this photo is the background of it and the disarray that it portrays.  The woman is in the foreground and the background is a field of grass filled with other chairs, however those chairs are empty and almost all off balance or tipped over.  It looks as if they are set up for some kind of event, but all except for a  few are actually standing up straight.  Additionally there is not another single visible person in the frame, just the woman and she is completely unbothered by the scene behind her.  This makes for an interesting composition because she looks almost as if she is posed, but not fully, and the depth of the background is large, but rather than other people being in it, the other subjects are these empty and disorganized chairs.  This photo makes you ask a lot of questions which I think is what makes it so interesting.
