This photograph taken by Kristin Capp was captured in Niteroi, Brazil, 2005. She does an incredible job at freezing time through this image. Everything is crisply in focus from each individual wave to the rocks in the far background. Her use of space and balance really contribute to the composition of the photo as well. The white space in the middle ground between the water and the structure at the top draws the viewers eyes to the rocks in the background. At the same time the balance between light and shadows of the image also cause the viewers attention to be brought to the front waves of the image along with the horizon line. These aspects contribute to the strong composition of this photograph.
