In Tehran 2006, Mitra Tabrizian’s use of figures and angle of view make the picture even more powerful than the content of the picture. There is nothing particularly interesting about the people in the picture but the way they are placed and the setting of the picture makes the content more interesting. The wide angle view of the picture is important in the way it captures so many people and the lack of roads that they walk on. As discussed in the article, the lack of infrastructure in the picture is just as important as the people and the billboard in the back has particular irony because the test reads “We will continue [on] the path of the imam and martyrs of the Revolution” even though there are no paths.
