The historical background of this set of photographs was the Guatemala civil war(1960-1996) which caused hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives. The subject matters of this photograph were the relatives of some victims of the war preparing a proper burial for the deads couple decades after their death.
The angle of this photograph is considered high which we can see these people‘s top of heads. With a long depth of field, the audience can see the whole view of this burial preparation activity and understand how seriously those people treat the ritual.
