This gelatin silver print photo was captured by Harry Callahan in 1951. This photo is titled, “Eleanor” and played heavily with composition and lighting. This lighting is extremely important for the focus of this image. A silhouetted lady is standing in the middle of the photo with a bright light behind her. Around her are what appear to be branches. Being that this is a black and white photo, lighting is extremely important, especially for the branches. The contrast between dark and light makes the branches surrounding the woman appear almost ghostly. Additionally, the branches take up the entire photo, other than the woman. Making her the clear focus of the photograph.
