This image was taken by Ansel Easton Adams in CA,1940. The subject matters of this image are three children which the oldest is likely a teenager, the second older one seems around 5 years old, and the youngest one still looks like an infant to me. Considering the single subject matter as children, the composition of this image is simple and clear. The artist kept the focus of this image on those three children only and the background(negative space)of it was set to be small and blurry with a short depth of field. The overall lighting of this image is dull and the only bright places are the children’s face and the baby’s white shirt which creates a contrast. This brings the audiences’ attention mostly on observing the facial emotions of these three children.
