The above photo was taken by Diane Arbus in NYC in 1971. This example of short DoF focuses on a veteran holding a flag in the street. The veteran is the main focus of the picture, as he is the the closest to the camera and has the sharpest quality. The buildings and people behind him start to blur and lose focus.
