The photo above was taken by Aaron Siskind in 1988. This picture is titled New York 51. Photographed is worn photographs/posters on a brick wall. These weathered and outdated posters capture the passage of time. Based off of the shadows that the posters leave of the brick wall, you can tell that this was taken during broad daylight. The brick wall of the left half to the picture has a brick wall pattern compared to the right side of the wall which is smooth. I would put this in the category of documentary.

The poster content makes it less abstract and focuses attention on the people and story that are unreadable so I can see why you would think it was more like documentary.
