This image is named Kentucky 4 and was taken by Aaron Siskind in 1951. The image appears to have a wood-grain pattern similar to wood used for a sign. Over the wood grain pattern stenciled on paint can be seen that helps to accentuate and darken the grain. The image is sectioned into three vertical unequal parts. The image appears to actually be composed of two images put together to create an abstraction of the original. I believe this is the case due to the cut off “A” on the left side of the image and then a new set of black and white paint marks directly next to the first section on the left. The wood grain and stenciled paint pattern leads me to believe that the object captured was a sign.

There is also an “R” that covers the right two slats of wood. Good observations of texture and pattern.
