Robert Capa was a photographer during the Spanish Civil War, WWII, and the conflict between French and the Viet Minh in Indochina, documenting rarely pictured scenes of battle during those times. On June 6, 1944, Capa was with the soldiers of the 16th Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division landing at Omaha Beach. The landing is pictured in the photo above, showing American soldiers hiding from gunfire behind hedgehog beach obstacles.
