Robert Capa is a well known photographer that took many photos during World War 2. This photograph was taken during D-Day. He is quoted saying, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enough.” Just through this quote we can tell that he was super invested and engaged in the photographs he was taking. He was documenting moments as they were happening, exactly how they were happening. Many photographers stage their photographs, and we know that Robert Capa was not one of these people.
SebastiĆ£o Salgado was another photographer whose work focused primarily on documentary photography and capturing real moments as they happened. Many of these moments were intense and powerful exactly like emotions we get from the photo above.
