Nov 2, Tilt Shift

Jay Lee

This image taken by Jay Lee captures the tilt shift effect very well. When shooting tilt shift there are a couple things I try to keep in mind. The first is that I try to leave out the sky. Capturing the sky in your image can sometimes retract from the tilt shift effect. During editing I like to boost saturation more than I normally would to give it that pop to make it look a little more toy-ish. Lastly, the most important part is the blurring of the image. Only keeping a slight fraction of the image in focus pulls the effect together and makes it extremely toy like.
