Alexander, Taylor/Uelsmann, Uelsmann/Taylor

Oct 28, Uelsmann/Taylor

This picture above was made by Jerry Uelsmann. He makes these surreal composites by grouping together multiple negatives that he develops in a dark room, and then selects pieces of the negatives that he wants to include in his final composition. The whole process is really complicated, and to honest I don’t completely understand it. That being said, I really love his work and think what he does is one of the purest forms of creative freedom.

This picture shown above the paragraph is by Maggie Taylor. She creates her images using a camera, her computer, and a flatbed scanner. She uses the scanner to scan objects into her computer and then layers it on photoshop with her photographs in order to create her creative surreal masterpieces.
