I chose this street photograph from the Lehigh Art Gallery because the shadow against the cement immediately grabbed my attention. The shadow raises so many questions for me. How is the shadow in a zig zag shape if the pole is sitting there straight? Where was the sun angled when this photograph was shot? Is the sun placement what is causing this zig zag shadow? This composition could have been boring to the viewer as it is fairly simple and just a shot of architecture close up. But there is so much more to the composition because of the shadow.
