Slide 20 in The Motion of Light in Water.
This photograph, titled “People Bathing in Water”, was taken by an American artist named Ken Heyman, in El Salvador. It was taken in 1961 but printed in 1967. Motion seems frozen in time in this image but the water splashes indicating that the children are bathing in the water suggests that there is clear movement in this photo. But the subjects are crisply focused with no blur which suggests that the image was captured while the subjects were relatively still but also moving under water. The most relevant design elements in this composition seem to be the shadows and the texture, because those elements are what are used to create the movement aspect in the photo.
