This image shot by Harry Callahan is Untitled taken in 1946. Harry was an American photographer that used landscape as one of his themes throughout his career. The image is composed of what appears to be two rocks on a sand dune. The rocks create impressions in the sand casting shadows on the land. The sand has long striations that can be seen from the top left corner of the image curving down to the bottom right. A line of raised sand at the bottom of the image breaks up these striations by creating a strong horizontal line in the photo. The direct sunlight in this image creates a dynamic photograph by allowing the rock formations to cash shadows on the ground to create the illusion that they are pushing into the earth.
