Aaron Siskind #14

Picture fourteen in the abstract gallery is titled Kentucky 4, 1951. In it there are three vertically parallel planks of wood. What the object is is unknown, maybe a wooden crate, fence, or floorboard. It seems like they were previously painted and rearranged or maybe they were old painted boxes that were deconstructed and repurposed later. It looks like there are holes on the top portions of the wooden planks most likely caused by nails. The wood is aged and worn – shown by the cracks and chipped paint suggesting that the wood was scraping along something prior to the picture being taken. A detail which I like is that the “R” on the right wood plank overlaps onto the middle piece of wood.
